H Harrold & Sons Ltd is Sheffield’s longest-serving and only Master Locksmith Association (MLA) approved locksmiths. We have been providing exceptional locksmith and safe engineer services to South Yorkshire and the surrounding areas since 1919. 
 
Our team of experts can handle all of your locksmithing needs, including vehicle keys, safes, lockouts, key cutting, CCTV, and access control. We take pride in our work and always go the extra mile to ensure our customers are secure and satisfied.

H Harrold & Sons Heritage

1919

H Harrold and Sons was established in 1919 by William Harrold.

1938 Rockingham Lane

William Harrold relocated to Rockingham Lane.

19 Division Street

William Harrold relocated to Division Street when security became a retail business.

1945

World War II ended. 

​

1958

The company purchased it's second vehicle which was a Morris Miner.

1946

After the war ended, William's son Henry took over the company.

1980 - 2000

The company grew year-on-year and explored new products to sell.

1938

A devastating fire destroyed Albert Hall and surrounding areas including William Harrold's workshop. The workshop was condemned and was demolished.

Rockingham Lane workshop

Paint brush Lock
This name was given to this mortice lock due to it looking like a paintbrush. It was easier to mortice the lock into the door due to less material on the lockcase.

During the war, William was very busy doing work for the armed forces and the steel industry.

1949

The company purchased it's first vehicle which was a 1938 Wolsey Twelve.

Henry was a talented footballer and was assigned to Sheffield Wednesday's U12's, but William refused to let him go professional and wanted Henry to concentrate on the family business.

Henry married and had three sons -

 Terry, Norman and Gordon.

1970

The company expanded into the seventies with six more family members, including the current management team of  Tony and Peter.

2023

We have 16 employees working at H Harrold and Sons Ltd providing an excellent service to our customers.
